Although they lacked experience, the Orio ' es turned in many fine performances under the capable coaching of Mr. Frank Everett. They ended the season with a record of seven wins and nine losses. The squad was composed of only one returning letter- man, Captain Tommy Andrews, alonq with three members of last year ' s varsity — Clinton Owens, R. J. Harris and Wayne Mabry. Varsity Basketball Although the 1950 Orio ' es ended their season with 3 wins, one tie and 5 losses they proved, that despite injuries, they were capable of giving anyone a good ball game. With only five lettermen returning, Coach Vic Kreiter had his work cut out for him; bad luck took over and for the rest of the season injuries to key men hampered Coach Kreiter from fielding a winning ball club. We should be proud of the fight and determination which our boys displayed on the gridiron this past season and of the coaches who spent many hours working with them in an effort to produce a winning team.
