l l Q ASFHCUHY We Do Big Things The usual conception of a teacher is a short, slight, spectacled, tweedy scholar who is completely introverted. After just a cursary glance We can definitely say that this state- ment in no Way, shape, manner, or form ap- plies to the teachers at Pulaski. One teacher on our staff gets his kicks from parachuting, While another gets enjoy- ment from driving his VW. Others capitalize on their spare time by selling insurance, hot-dogs, or real estate. Some find satisfaction in horseracing. One of our faculty members heads the Library Board, While another is a lobbyist for the Teachers Union, and yet another is a part time preacher. 'Nuff said? Mr. Francke presents a cake to retiring custodian Mr. Albert Gerke. Thank you for all the cleaning up you've done after us, Hectic I.B.M. machines mean a shot in the head to Mr. Franckeg a true puzzlement to Miss Jean Haldner, secretary, and a plain "Pow" to Mr. DeBriae.

Faculty Promotes Education Mr. Clayton R. Francke Principal Mr. Edward C. DeBriae Vice-Principal l34 1 S . x Pulaski's administration outdid itself try- ing to keep 2,850 students from falling asleep. But, with 115 teachers armed with an equal number of red marking pencils, day-dreaming was kept to a surprisingly low level. The faculty also had to contend with the onslaught of 1,110 new sophomores, causing teachers to swell their ranks to a record peace-time high of 115 members. Aiding the teachers behind the main lines were eight secretaries Who courageously tried to eliminate confusion by using an IBM machine. The main assult came from the English department composed of 22 teachers armed With verbal spears and reading record cards. The second Wave came from the 16 business education teachers, equally Well- armed with a fleet of typewriters and steno- pads. All in all, 630 seniors managed to graduation. Mr. William F. Tiernan Assistant to the Principal
