Dave Hanna and Jim Voelz Wait for the small,
round tennis ball.
By the end of last spring Pulaski had
one of the finest tennis seasons in the history
of the school. While finishing fourth in the
City Conference, Coach Wielgosz lost most of
his lettermen through graduation. The 1963
team was centered around Jim Voelz, with
help from those who played last year.

Ram Cindermen Sparkle Season
After taking over from Coach Stern, Coach
Dufek hoped to repeat the success of last
Last year, the cindermen Won the state
sectional by qualifying athletes in three in-
dividual events, and a relay team.
This year, Coach Dufek and Assistant
Coaches Goodrich, Christiansen, and Perez
built the team around a nucleus of eleven
returning lettermen. This number was later
reduced to ten when Dan Smith was lost for
the season due to a knee injury.
At Baker Field House on April 10 and 11,
1963, Pulaski finished sixth in the City Indoor
Track Meet, 12 points behind champion King.
At this meet, Jim Huber pole vaulted 12 feet
3 inches, smashing the old record of 12 feet
2Mg inches, set in 1960 by another Pulaskian.
