TENNIS Mrs. Schubert The Tennis Club, supervised by Mrs. Schubert, teaches the funda- mental strokes of the game and how to adapt these strokes to a tennis situation. The players have a chance to match their skills every year in the fall tournaments. For the third time in a row Carol Zaharias won the tournament, beat- ing joan jaworski in the finals. Blue Musk Club The chief purpose of the Blue Mask Club, sponsored by Mr. Simpson and Miss Cutnaw, is to study and appreciate drama. The club offers students an opportunity to participate and gain experi- ence in acting. Students learn proper techniques for staging as well as the proper pointers for gain- ing stage presence. In addition to acting, students may also learn about scenery, costumes, makeup, and other activities which are necessary to stage productions. 62

STAGE CREW Mr. Leonard Schmidt The stage crew, under the direc- tion of Mr. Leonard Schmidt, are the unsung heroes of Pulaski. These boys work diligently for spring concerts, class plays, audi- torium programs, and noon hour movies. Although their work is done silently and goes unnoticed, our programs would not be a suc- cess without them. tat? -N.. SENIOR PLANNING COMMITTEE Mr, Tiernon The Senior Planning Committee, supervised by Mr. William Tiernan, consists of one elected m e m b e r from each senior homeroom. The committees usefulness has been proved by carrying back current senior information to their home- rooms. They assist with the Wis- consin State Employment Testing Program which is taken by one- third of the senior class. They also help in the planning of col- lege and vocational day programs. Their aid is very helpful in organ- izing many of the senior activities. STAMP CLUB Mr. Raymond Shaw The stamp club, under the direc- tion of Mr. Raymond Shaw, was organized for the purpose of giv- ing stamp collectors a place to dis- cuss and exchange ideas on their ho b b y . Stamp catalogues, maga- zines and newspapers are made available to keep the collectors up to date on current events. Lec- tures are arranged for the inter- changing of new information on ar- ranging displays. The club is in- formal and urges free exchange of hobby ideas among members. 121

Cafeteria Because of an overload in the student-body, lunch periods were extended this year to fourth, fifth and sixth hours. The lunch period is a favorite among all. Hot lunches, under the government subsidized program, are obtainable at the very reasonable price of 30 cents. Milk, ice-cream, and candy are sold to those who want them. After a certain length of time the student may go outside, to a specially arranged movie in the auditorium, or remain in the cafeteria.
