Wrestling With the return of last year's major letter winners Paul juszczak, John Neuenfeldt, and Chuck Malinsky, and minor winners Dick Mathis and Jerry Albert, the Pulaski matmen had a very successful season by winning three of their six dual meets. Paul Juszczak pinned his man, and Chuck Malinsky out-pointed his opponent for the only Rambler victories. Our team also was beaten by Washington and Rufus King. With several varsity players returning, the outlook seemed promising, but injuries and other prob- lems cropped up, and the team won only three conference games. The Ramblers played good games, but failed to win any of the non-conference tilts. The Ramblers fell to Notre Dame, 48-395 the Wauke- sha team, Suburban Champions, trounced our cagers, 84-40, St. Catherine's of Racine was also victorious. Though winning at the half, the Ramblers lost a heart-breaker to West Allis Cen- tral. A last minute free throw gave Central a 51-50 victory over Pulaski. The Ramblers jumped off to a half time lead, but South came back in the second half and de- feated our Ramblers, 76-63. South breezed through the remainder of their schedule to become city champions for the second consecutive year. Regaining their winning ways, the Pulaski cag- ers defeated Juneau, 67-66, and Bay View, 57-48. In those two games the Rambler talent was obvious. On February 19 the Pulaski cagers gained their third city conference victory by defeating Rufus King, 85-58. Sophomores Robert Over and George Cwiklowski led the attack, scoring 35 and 22 points respectively. The Rambler's 85 points set a school scoring record. Pulaski lost a close game to North Division, 64- 58. The Ramblers had jumped to a 30-26 half- time lead, but were outscored in the final periods. George Cwiklowski and Jerome Andraszczak scored 18 and 14 points respectively for the Ramblers. East Division also trounced the Ramblers, 72-55. After leading 30-24 at the end of the half, Pulaski slipped in the third quarter, scoring only eight points to the Tigers twenty. Center James Metz played his best game of the season scoring 21 points. The high scorer in individual points is Ed Markunas, a mid-year graduate. He was followed closely by George Cwiklowski, James Radtke, and Jerome Andraszczak. The cagers lost two other members after mid- year graduation who contributed a great deal. They were Ronald Ramlow and Robert Walloch. The regular players for the season were: George Cwiklowski, Ed Markunas, Jerome Andraszczak, Terry Laschen, James Metz, James Radtke, and Robert Over.
