A SENTIME TAL JOUR EY Although the Pueblo Hlgh School student body had been an entlty for a year by the t1me school opened ln Se pte mbe r, the fact that we had occup1ed our own bulldmg for onlya short txme before we were d1sm1ssed m May for the summer made September, 1956 somethmg of an adventure for all of us We were semors we had a bu1ld1ng we were not shar zng wrth two other h1gh schools we d1dn't have to run three blocks between classes we weren't txed down by an overwhelmmg n umbe r of trad1t1ons no one could remember the r eas on for Some of the thmgs we dxd were new and dzfferent If we weren't always or1gmal, we weren't carbon COPIES, exther We had much to do, and some of xt we d1d well When we bog g e d down, lt was perhaps mostly due to the great task we faced rn makxng ourselves over mto a urufxed group There were those people we had hardly seen smce we had left Wakefxeld and Safford, and we had to get acquamted all over agam And there were new pe ople who were sur prlsed to fmd they lwed Just down the block from us We fomd that at Pueblo we could even get to know the te acher s, and that they were mostly human It has been an excxtxng year There have been dlsappozntments, and squabbles Jealoueues and betrayals but there have been successes, too, people to do them wrth We who have pr e par e d these next three pages, Gerz Osborn and Carlos Pmeda, must apo1og1ze for hav1ng only one of the sen1or c la s s adv1sors znvolved 1n the wexghty task of turn1ng the pages of our calendar, but rt was too d1ff1cu1t to c a r 1 c a t u r e Mrs Douglas, and the yearbook adv1sor kept hound1ng us to get the pages 1n so we g1Ve you Mr Czochetto, thmly dxsguxsed as St Peter, holdmg the gate open for all of us -1 XG 9 l as O Q' c 433 Ps 1? and good times: there have been a wonder ful lot of things to do, and - V Uf - - , . o qj?' v - 9 A V5 L6 C Q'
