UNSUNG HEROINES acl! The attendance and administrative oltices were managed this past year by seventeen secretaries, responsible for operating the switchboard, keeping student attendance records, and managing registration. Two secretaries in the library kept rec- ords in order and helped students find necessary information sources and reading materials. The hectic duties of the counseling and attendance offices were relieved by office guides. These girls helped in office ll4 by OFFICE GUIDES. They also provided students with information about the voca- tional files and the college catalogues. Counselors found of- fice guides willing to answer the always ringing phones and to deliver messages to students in study hall. Efficiency and knowledge of school policy enabled Prospect's secretaries and office guides to keep the administration operating smoothly.

ACQUIRES NEW NEIGHBCRS Principal Mr. Alvin Kulieke Prospect students cmd faculty remembered another successful year under the guidance and leadership of Principal Mr. Al- vin Kulieke. Mr. Kulieke helped to co-ordinate student and faculty activities, both educational and extracurricular. The behavior of students, the maintenance of the building, and the purchasing of supplies, as well as the activities of students, were the responsibilities of Mr. Louis Schultz, Assistant Princi- pal for Administrative Services. Assistant Principal for Administrative Services - Mr. Louis Schultz . , El, W l l Assistant Principal for Instructional Services Mr. Donald Thomas Mr. Donald Thomas, Assistant Principal for Instructional Serv- ices, provided leadership and supervision in Prospect's educa- tional program this year. As the Director of Student Activities, Mr. James Kunnen aided the student body in a successful year. His responsibilities included scheduling of organizational ac- tivities, providing for adequate faculty supervision at these activities, directing of the student council, and supervising of student ticket sales. ENRICHMENT BY BOCDKS Students occupied in their favorite pastime-studying. Library aids relieved Librarians and gained a MISS FANNIE MAE BARTMAN. Library Club. Illinois Wesleyan, A.B.g University of Illinois, M.A. M,S. MRS. ROSE A. SIGBORN. Li- brary Club. Eastern Illinois Uni- versity, B.S.Ed. knowledge of library skills. ll 1 This year Miss Fannie Bartmann and Mrs. Rose Sigborn served Prospect High School as librarians. Aided by the clerks, Mrs. Miriam Platell and Mrs. Jessie Sbarbaro, they supplied stu- dents with guidance in library research assignments. A pro- gram of library orientation for incoming freshmen was planned as part of the first semester frosh English course. Fiction and non-fiction books, reference sources, tapes, rec- ords, college and vocational pamphlets, and both recent and back copies of magazines and newspapers were available to the interested student. The conference rooms for faculty and students provided opportunities for discussion with immediate access to library facilities. Prospect can be proud of the wealth of information stored in 14,200 volumes.
