Seniors are trained in group dynamics and leadership techniques in a daily course run by faculty. Once weekly peer leaders run group discus- sions with freshmen and new students on topics such as peer pressures, academic concerns, drug and alcohol use and abuse, boy-girl relationships, and parent-adolescent sources of conflict. Mrs K - the walking joke book Not another one of Gil's amendments! You weren't in homeroom last MONTH! .. . C'mon, Pars, it's Student Council business!! This year was one of great activity for the Student Council. Working under a new constitution and a new form of representa- tion, the Council was able to effect many positive changes at Princeton High School. The most apparent ofthese are the Student Lounge, the Student Store, the soda machine, and the student radio station, WPHS. The Council this year split its efforts equally between activities and policy, holding such events as the welcoming dance, the Gkto- berfest, the Winter Carnival, and several student exchanges, while creating a program of student tutors, instituting changes in the Gold Key selection process, publishing a student phone directory, and establishing an honor roll. Much work also went on behind the scenes. Student Council members maintained the bulletin boards, kept the trophy cases neat, posted a calendar of school events, assisted at several social functions, and served on many school and community committees. It is the general goal of the Student Council to work with the students, their parents, the faculty, and the administration, to make each student's stay at PHS both educational and enjoyable. The Council's success is directly related to the support it receives from each of these groups, and for that reason the Student Council would like to thank the entire school community for a very success- ful year. 165 PRINCE 1982 JESSICA HANNON, editor-in-chief MRS. Early in the year the group saw Tennessee William's play, Night of the Iguana, at lVlcCarter. The club has attended several workshops including an all-day acting workshop stressing set design and dance techniques conducted by Penny Reed, a McCarter member, and an interesting workshop focusing on stage make-up. The club also sponsored members in dramatic competitions held at Bucks County, Rutgers, and Trenton State. The members ofthe Drama Club extend their gratitude to their loving director, Mrs. Wimberg, who has put so much effort and energy not only into the club's activities, but also into the three annual performances and the AA Show, l74 K. But in the states, our opponents got stronger, And unfortunately, the matches took longer, For the second year Rumson ended our run, Despite the loss, we had a lot of fun. Danielle, again, was number one, 6'Boy, that girl can hit the ball-a-ton! At second singles, Patty was undefeated, Despite the fact she never cheated! Julie came through for us all the time, In the states, she was at her prime. Jenny and Rosemary, what a doubles pair, They could win games without a care! Lizzie and Heather had all the etiquette, And were lethal, when they made it to the net! All the players were number one in the country, For Mr. Humes, not a bad bounty. Once again, the states are yet to be, With graduation of four seniors, next year is a must to see! Mr. Humes, try to maintain our legacy New warm-ups, a feat, too bad they're not lacy. 199 FOOTBALL if Thi 1 ki 200 N x19 err? wt Tlgers 42 20 28 15 22 19 0 Varstty Football Brumwlck Ewlng Hun Hightstown West Windsor McCorristin Lawrence Notre Dame Trenton Opponents O 6 15 0 Z7 37 20 Qi Under first year Head Coach Bill Cirullo, what may appear to be a disappointing season will benefit next year's team. Many of the underclassmen received valuable game experience. The team ran up a 5-1 record before many devastating injuries and mistakes resulted in losing the last three games. The highlight of the season was the crushing defeat of West Windsor, 28-15, whom PHS had not beaten in four years. The seniors, who finished their careers with a combined record of 20-8 over the past three years, will take fond memories of PHS football with them. Also thanks to Rachel, Di- anna, and Martha, who were the most dedicated managers in the world. The captains e Josh and Brian 4 would especially like to thank the group of basically hard-working wrestlers who, even in a disappointing season, managed to gain all the things that can only be gained by those who persist. Dave actually made it through ten minutes of practice without asking a stupid question. Eric survived an entire practice without a serious injury. Nick went an entire free period without mentioning food once. Clark kept his balance. Cote brought his own towel. Dave Fields was the premiere J.V. wrestler in the world. Ralph and Scott learned how to time their mile run with a calendar. Paul learned a new song.
