ROWAN PUBLIC LIBRARY SALISBURY.NC 39078 2768 Kfflrmmamcmsxm m,ss 2 . 1 ruc e erson Cc ilt or been six short years since we first became acquainted with the familiar sounds of Price High School. It seems as though it was only yesterday that we received our first defeat and only moments ago that we received our first real success. Yet, we know now that this is just a be¬ ginning, perhaps to something greater. Our friends, those whom we have shared so much, are about to depart. The things that we have cherished most, at this time in our lives, are swiftly moving away. What is to be, we do not know. But, there will always be one thing that will stand out-- our love for dear ole Price High !! f We have tried to share with you everything that has been important to us in only a few short pages. Perhaps you will be able to sense the trust, love, and admiration that we feel within ourselves as you venture into the outline which has been prepared. May you know just as we know, that . . . Yet we know of all the rest, Price High School is still the best. We ' ll cherish the Black and Red. The Editor Dedication Administration 0)ports (£ Activities Gfu6s (G Organizations din der class m en 43 nnua. ' • - mm ■ ImKilimwiiifl IFi; 11 ■ i ' Isle Wk SnIE lEJJSHfifi skWObK snow To each of you, remember that no matter how helpless you may be or how unimportant apart you may seem to occupy in the world’s affairs, there is an open door of service somewhere waiting for you. Perhaps you have looked for it so long you have lost hope and courage. Keep your eyes open and pre¬ pare for it, for it may lie where you least expe ct to find it. The open door is there, and if you do not walk through it, you can blame no one but yourself. Success in any venture is composed of nine-tenth mind desire. A physical handi¬ cap does not necessarily contribute to im¬ pairment of the brain. State of mind gov¬ erns endeavor, endeavor brings success, and a successful bricklayer is just as nec¬ essary as a successful banker. The close of this academic year, to me, is like no other. I view it with deep con¬ cern for the students who have passed this way this year, for in no other year, has the future been brighter or the opportunities to succeed greater. Most students think that only the sen¬ iors are the recipients of bright futures and deserving scholarships, and this, in practice is true, but, the earning of these recognitions commences even as one enters high school. There is a place in the sun for the deserving, the diligent, the versatile, the academically alert student, while for the apathetic, the sloven, the evasive, the negligent student there is only the escape into ’’just-belong¬ ing. To the students at Price, and especially the Seniors, we have this year opened more doors of opportunity and it is our hope that you have found them ajar. We can only point the way; you must carve the path. r ■ ' % I M f-j ' -. j Sl ■ . - itoffi-t.i , ' ■ ;• Mr. J. H. Knox Superintendent Mrs. D. P. Jones Guidance Counselor Mr. A. In spite of the accuracy of this record, however, these pictures cannot adequately photograph the spirit of the student body exhibited through harmonious chants at a basketball game, the anxiety created prior to a test, the concern displayed when a fellow student needs comforting, the rev¬ erence and devotion expressed at a Lenten Service. Our time at Price is gradually decreasing, but we hope in years to come that these pages will serve as a reminder of our achievements, our capers, our victories, our defeats while we were here. We may go North, South, East or West And by many colors be led; But we know of all the rest, Price High School is still the best So we ' ll cherish the black and red.
