rt 1 We engaged in physical activities here; this is our gymnasium. This is where our academic knowledge is acquired. From These Walls, Great This is the nucleus of our sphere; the central agency where knowledge is imparted and bus¬ iness is transacted. Sixty-Fiv i pi p I 3 Directing School Affairs A Friendly Advisor Mr. G. W. Miller Principal In this modern age that we live . . . some¬ times called the jet age or the space age . . . the complexities of our society are many, yet we should ever place emphasis upon the most vital element of our existence, the individual. In our education circle here at Price, the lab¬ oratories, the gymnasium, the shops, and the beautiful campus do not make for the learning process; they can only add to, stimulate, make and provide a wholesome setting for learning to take place. It is the individual who must learn. Education is the first and fairest thing that the best of men can ever have. A liberal educat¬ ion is a high adventure. The human spirit is quickened and all the world becomes a brighter place to live because it is better understood. Young men and women are enabled to face what¬ ever life may bring with equanimity and cour¬ age. This is what I have found Price to be ... a molder of educationally destined young men and women. The teachers, the administration, the staff, the students, all epitomize this virture, and, as a new principal here at Price, I have seen, I have felt, I have caught this spirit and am proud to be a part of Price . . . for PRICE is PRICELESS! 4 Mr. Alexander Monroe Assistant Principal Mr. J. H. Knox Superintendent Mrs. Aggie P. Harrington Office Secretary Mrs. D. P. Jones Guidance Counselor Mr. L. H. Hall Our Deceased Principal By precepts and examples, he paved the way to greatness. m m aw m llijiyfl Dedication Beatrice F. Bennett Instructor of History Vivid memories recur in the minds and hearts of many a sophomore, junior, senior and graduate as he recalls an enchanted hour spent in her classroom each day, being constantly reminded of the importance of history and its relation¬ ship to our lives today, both foreign and domestic. We found her, not only in academic life at Price High, but also in our extra¬ curricular activities. Besides instilling a knowledge of history and physical ed¬ ucation into our minds, she helps to make our yearbook a success each year. To a friend, a confidant, and our beloved senior advisor who gave each of us words of counsel and encouragement when we needed it most. We gratefully acknowledge all the help and inspiration you have given us, and in gratitude and admiration, we dedicate to you, our 1965 PRICEAN. You will forever hold a spec¬ ial place in our memories. Miwm$ wmi£mw mam mm mm WW4 mm mm mm wt mms tmm mv « wt x m « mm nmm ' m tsmfw m an? : $ ' Mwmmm-- Wwb ■•! ' . Miss Chariot Wheeler Editor of the 1965 Pricean Jm The editor of the 1965 Pricean invites ypu to look within its covers and there to find the hopes, dreams, and aspirations which the students at Price High School have shared throughout this year. We hope that all of the memories recalled will be pleasant ones and that every dream which had its start here at Price High School will soon be ful¬ filled. Here is your Pricean! May it bring you as much happiness and in¬ spiration as it has brought to those who have worked so industriously to present it to you. Anderson and Mr. J. W. Bennett, we pay tribute in our 1965 PRICEAN. Both of you are the symbols of friendship, co-operation, and belonging. Each student is a part of you, and you are a part of each student. By your friendly personal attitudes toward all of us you have tied our class and our school together. Mr. Anderson, we shall never forget the nickels we borrowed from you with our best intentions of repaying you later. Mr. Bennett, your willingness to take our pictures when we had no money and when only you knew you had no film was fun after all. Thanks for your time, patience and pretense. For these and many more reasons, we express our thanks. 20 The whole is equal to the sum of its parts In our sophomore year at Price High School, the class of 1965 learned this axiom in geometry class. It was a logical, universal concept that anyone could testify to as a practical truth. But the true meaning of this mathematical reality became clear only when we faced graduation as a senior class. Then, we remem¬ bered the parts: students, faculty, classes, activities and athletics; the whole: Price High School. Each is separate and important, but we of the class of 65 also remember another axiom, one to which we have dedicated ourselves in the past four years -- The whole is GREATER than any of its parts .
