Our Principa S. O. Jones, Principal PRINCIPAL ' S MESSAGE TO SENIORS Congratulations for the successful completion of the tremendous task of pub¬ lishing this annual. You have shown the value of concerted effort and class spirit. Without the foresight, courage, careful planning and tenacity on the part of your class leaders and sponsors, the reality of this annual would not have come to pass. May you look forward to many happy years which will be based on the solid foundation laid while here at Price High School. And, as you leave the portals of this school building, may you ever exemplify the kind of spirit which you have so nobly advanced in the preparation of this annual.

Our Retired Principa L. H. Hall The Class of 1958 takes pleasure in following other classes in saluting Mr. L. H. Hall, our retired principal. For thirty-six years he was the leader of the Negro Division of Public Schools in Salisbury. As principal of Price he was able to inspire many pupils who have now become successful. We salute Mr. Hall as a great educator and a great citizen. Since 1911 he has been superintendent of the Sunday School of Moore ' s Chapel; he has been trustee of the same church for twenty-two years. Mr. Hall has served as Tenant Inter¬ viewer for the Housing Projects, member of the Recreation Commission, member of the Interracial Council, Chairman of the Rowan Division of Boy Scouts, Secre¬ tary to the National Alumni Association of Livingstone College. The City of Salis¬ bury has honored Mr. Hall in three significant ways: a street has been named for him; the gymnasium and shop building were named in his honor; he has been appointed as member of the Board of Education of the city.

In Memoriam Mrs. E. Beatrice Riggs Hall Mrs. Beatrice Riggs Hall, wife of Mr. L. H. Hall, and former teacher of Price High School, departed this life, December 30, 1957. From 1924 to 1953, Mrs. Hall served faithfully and efficiently as a teacher at Price. Having received the Bachelor of Science degree from Talladega College and the Bachelor of Library Science degree from Western Reserve University, Mrs. Hall was well qualified to assume many duties. During her tenure, she taught mathematics, physical educa¬ tion, science, and later in her career, she became librarian. Mrs. Hall organized the Crown and Scepter Club, and was its sponsor for a number of years. She was also sponsor of many debating teams that won recogni¬ tion throughout the state. Under her guidance, many projects for school improve¬ ment were completed. In the community, Mrs. Hall was an active member of Moore ' s Chapel A. M. E. Zion Church, of the Interracial Council, the National Woman ' s Council, the Eastern Star, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. She was also a leader of the Girl Scouts. Mrs. Hall was a stimulating personality, that radiated energy and ambition. She seemed to have had a divinity of purpose and as Emerson says: “To help the young soul to add energy, inspire hope, and blow the coals into a useful flame; to redeem defeat by new thought and firm action, this though not easy, is the work of divine men.
