The Statistician Report I Nelson Pharr, having been chosen as Statistician for the class of ' 55 will strive to do my best to uphold this position by giving you an analysis of the class of ' 55. Considering our ages I find that most of us will graduate at 17 or 18 with the exception of Delaney White (who admits he has lost tract of his age,) and Mollucye Spratley who is fifteen. The shortest girl is Kay F. Chawlk and the shortest boy is Garland Gaither, though Deanna Redfern is 5 feet, 71 2 inches and George Tugman is 6 feet, 3 inches respectively and both are still growing. The girls favorite sports are: basketball, softball, and dancing, while the boys go for basketball and football. Willie Stewart prefers checkers. He says they are much easier to move. The girls spend most of their leisure time at the movies, dating and dancing. Mary Wiseman spends her ' s flirting. The boys go for sports and pool but Norris Currence says he prefers to stay home. Who believes him? I know I don ' t. The class has favorite types of movies. They are romances, comedies, and tragedies, but James Campbell said he would pay anything to see a good cowboy picture. Mercurys, Fords, Cadillacs, Lincolns, and Oldsmobiles are our favorite cars, though William Byers says he prefers anything rideable. Our favorite classes are English, Algebra, and History. Cleveland Harris prefers Study; he says you learn more and hear more. V neck sweaters, skirts, and Bermuda socks are the fashions for the girls, while the intelligent young men wear suits, tab collar shirts, and sport coats. The class ' s favorite candies are Mounds, Almond Joy, and 5th Avenues, but Odell Watson prefers suckers and Peppermint Sticks. He says you get more for your money. Classical, Waltzes, Be-Bop, and Jazz are the class favorite music, Johnnie Mae Linebeger prefers Hillbilly. She says it has more rhythm. Most of the television fans prefer Arthur Godfrey , Strike It Rich , and The Colgate Comedy Hour . The boys prefer sport programs. Fried Chicken and Sea Foods are the favorites of the class, Elijah Alexander recommends pork and beans and potted meat. In our class we have twenty-two students who plan to attend College, nine who plan to join the Armed Services, four who plan to attend Beauty Culture School, and the rest plan to be house-wives and workers. Most of our ambitions are to be; Teachers, Secretaries, Business Firm Owners, Manual Trade Instructors, Medical Surgeons, Nurses, Beauticians, Electrical Engineers, and Lawyers. The majority of us are Methodist, Baptist, and Presbyterians. We also have mem¬ bers of other demoninations. Statistics show that this is one of the most fun-loving and intelligent classes that has attended Price High School. On the football team, seven lettermen come from our class. Four seniors are on the basketball team. Fourteen are members of the Glee Club. While twenty-one seniors belong to the band. We are forty- eight in number. You can see that every member uses his or her talent as best he can. Having done my best as Statistician I hereby sign my name: NELSON LEONARD PHARR, Statistician Witnesses DOROTHY WASHINGTON Charles McKinney Class History In 1951, 95 inexperienced students entered Price High School as Freshmen. In October we were invited to attend the Annual Senior Day activities at A T. College, Greensboro, North Carolina. We were among a hundred other schools represented. Our chaperones were Mrs. A. A.
