OFFICERS-President, Hody Butler, Vice-President, Ruthie Clark, Reporter, Frances Reese, Secretary, Lou Alice Tyree. Betty Cunningham takes over the teacher's duties in junior High School. The FTA, Future Teachers of America, is a nationwide movement that grew out of the Horace Mann Centennial in 1937. The FTA works in both high schools and col- leges. Its purposes are to learn about the opportunities in teaching, to cultivate the character qualities, to study the lives of great teachers, and to foster the development of student leadership.
