ff: . .:.. 'V' ' X N 6 'O 1' I XJ SENIOR HISTORY In the course of our lives, we have spent twelve long, drawn out years in school. Of the miserable 55 seniors, twelve of them had the unfortunate experience of starting to school together. They are Andrew Moore, Ruthie Clark, Virginia Ann Wynn, Frances Reese, William Cole, james Peachey, Rodney Hamilton, Sue Barger, Jackie Weaver, Katherine Parks, Pat Wren and David Britt. The second year the hearts of the girls missed a beat when Hody Butler, from the oil city of Bodcaw, and Fred Stanley from the thriving metropolis of Thomasville, joined us for a thrilling year. The third year the class grew by leaps and bounds, and in that year three shining faces appeared, Carol Cagle, from Redland, Helen May from Hickory Grove, and Rosa- lee Garrett, from Thomasville. From Tucson, Arizona, came Sydney Faye Pittman seeking the land of opportunity in the fourth grade, and two of our brightest and smartest students, Harvey Barham and Manilene Riggs from Cale. The fifth grade brought to light for the first time the Hasley delegation -Frances and Grady from Pleasant Hill and Emmett, respectively. Frances Jo McWilliams came from Texarkana, Texas. With five years behind us and without even drawing a blank, a new pupil arrived from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Leon Carruthers. People came from all around in our seventh year. From Pleasant Hill came Lou Alice Tyree, from Houston, Texas, tall, dark, and OH well, Raymond Garrett, from Pine Bluff came Mildred Vandiverg from the big city of Boughton came our scholar Pat Andrews, and our mighty little man from Little Rock, Mack Stockton. Seven years through school and more yet to come. The eighth brought a flood, Frances and june Billingsley, Joyce Buchanan, Betty Cottingham, Ruth McGuire, Bobbie New- ton, Joyce Tate, Roland Stuart, from Pleasant Hill, and Len Dale Godwin from Bodcaw. Eagerly we awaited our freshman year in high school and that meant frosh initiation, and Bobby Grayson and Clark Womble. Bobby came from Tarpinneck fjust outside of Bluff Cityj and Clark from Emmett. As sophisticated sophs the boys were in for a surprise, because of Mary Ann DeWoody from Tarpinneck and Faye Covington from the hills around Murfreesboro. One year and then freedom. We the juniors of '50 welcomed to our class the Hilde- brand clan from Bluff City-Bennie and Betty, and from among the oil derricks in Mag- nolia came Marguerite Hardwick. Eleven down and one to go. Only one addition and that was our old friend, Carolyn Cox from El Dorado. We wish ourselves, the Seniors of '51, a happy and successful future.
