This year ' s cheering squad did a fine job of keeping the spirit up within the cheering section at Presbyterian College. The Cheerleaders sacrifice many hours of valuable time in order to practice their routines and cheers. No one really knows how hard it is to be a Cheerleader, or how time-consuming it is, until one actually becomes a Cheerleader. They are to be con- gratulated on the fine way that they represented the Blue Hose at pep rallies and at the home and away games. The Cheerleaders put forth a tremendous effort toward showing the football and basketball teams that they were behind them all the way. The members of any team need to know that they have the confidence and support of their fellow schoolmates, and much credit should be given to the Cheerleaders for their enthusiasm and school spirit toward these activities. 1974 BLUE HOSE RELY UPON HUSTLE AN! Alter taking a Bluehose rebound, Co-Captain Terry Dover goes back up and hits for an additional two points as the Bluehose detest the Baptist College Buccaneers 78-63 on our home court in Leroy Springs Gymnasium. Facing taller opponents the entire season, the Blue Hose pressed and hustled their way to a hard earned 16-12 overall record. Under the new leadership of Coach Larry Burch, the Hose were molded into one unique team. A trademark of the PC Blue Hose was the acute teamwork which they played each game. All the players worked together for a common cause, that of winning every game that they possibly could. Each gave what talent he had for the purpose of winning. Even though this team tasted defeat on different occasions they were never out hustled nor out fought in any of the games they played. The 1974 Presbyterian College Blue Hose will be best remembered as a challenging group of basketball players. Randy Hyde gives a little extra ettort in the jump circle v hich enables him to tap the ball toward his anxious teammates. 26 SPORTS
