fan ice Ha zcley' Sami Sfzlumtorian . . the commencement exercises of our class of V160 . . . there are mixed emotions among my' classmates and myself tonight. After twelve vears of growing up and learning together we are aliout to part . . . hut we should he happy' as we anticipate the opportunities of the future. We began our education in what is now the administration huilding: the gymnasium and Park- side School were completed and in use the fall we were second graders: fifth grade saw the Cottage put to use. Entering high school our class won third prize on our float . . . hut that's enough said about our floats. The .-Xuditfvrium-Yatatorium was dedicated our freshman year and now we see the new senior high school nearing completion. Klany of us seniors were disappointed not to attend classes in the new high school . . . but we shouldnt feel too had. because our children and grandchildren will he going to this school. Wie are all very' fortunate to have received a wonder- ful education, We are thankful that our parents cared so much as to assure our educational advantages and opportunities. George Could Iif11f'l1l!'f0l'llIIZ. sperllfillg rl! commencement This is the beginning of the time when we must make decisions for ourselves . . . here in the linited States where the individual has the right to think . . . the divine quality' that sets man apart from the lower orders of animals. Wie must lie discerning enough in our investigation to separate the appearances from the truths. When we have put the saddle on the wrong horse. we should he the first to admit it . . . During our school years while learning from liooks. we have also lyeen learning hy personal experience. If we could make decisions for ourselves only. life would lie much simpler . . . lyut we may lie charged with making deci- sions that will affect people we donit know. people who as yet are unliorn. :Xmericans have had the aliility' to choose the concepts they' lmelieved were right and have had the courage to stand lmehind these concepts. Wie must stand or fall luv the decisions we make.
