'Nr 211 On October 5 it was our turn to take revenge on the new fresh- men. During this year Powell played host for the District Track Meet and the District Basketball Tournament. Prior to the tourna- ment the class sponsored a dance honoring the players. Barbara Hart, Martha Strong, Lorraine Sutherland, and Anna Avis made cardboard caricature drawings of each member of the team, which were used to decorate the gynn. 1949 also saw the first Homecoming in Powell. Our attendant to Queen Donna George was Martha Strong. Kenny Dooley, president, Martha Strong, vice-president, Karen Singer, secretary, and Janet Edmonds, treasurer, were officers for our junior class. Many important events occurred in 1950-1951. The new football field and the new electric scorboard were dedicated. The class of '52 presented Green Grow the Lilacs, starring Harold Wynn, Barbara Hart, Georgia Lynn, Burton Carlson, Don Fleming, Maxine Morris and George Brow, with a supporting cast of ten. We selected our rings, the crest of which is featured on the Panther '52 cover.
