Hi everyone! ' I came from a little place called Greenwich Village, but now I am a member of the famed Poughkeepsie High School. For four beautiful years live lived in P.H.S., and I wouldn't change those years for the biggest hunk of imported cheese. I have a special feeling for the class of sixty, the first class to complete four years in the new high school. I want -to thank the students for leaving apple peelings in the waste baskets from time to time, but the erasers are getting so stale I can't eat them. Every night, when the building is empty, I practice my typing 'in the main office. I am grateful to the office staff for not disturbing my papers while I worked on the Phois. Some days I visit classes QI have indigestion on these days.J I have been responsible for a few major explo- sions in the science wing and have caused va bit of a panic to mice-fearing females in the cafeteria. Sometimes I even go to clubs after school. I used to sneak into the basketball games, but my conscience bothered me so I bought a season ticket. I'm on the football team, but the coach hasn't sent me on the field yet . . . maybe next year??? . The Phois staff was very upset when it came to choos- ing a theme. When I popped out of Mr. Bartlett's desk drawer and offered my noble assistance, the staff was overwhelmed wi-th my pep, versatility and talent. There is a lot of fwork that goes into this book, and I'd like to be recognized for aiding the class of sixty above and 'beyond the call of f- duty. ' Salvador B. Mouse

'V X 'Vega W, -. ...mawswf As the first class to complete four years in the new Poughkeepsie High School, we, the class of 360, are fully appreciative of its many facilities and ad- vantages. We are complimented daily on our many classrooms, well stocked li- brary, spacious gym, beautiful auditori- um, and well equipped shops. Our mod- ern building has enabled us to enjoy the widest choice of subjects and curricula of any high school in Dutchess County. More than concrete, bricks, steel, and glass comprise our school, however. What makes our building really great is the spirit of the students and faculty who wonk there. Without this spirit, our lives would be without purpose, our building an empty shell. The spirit of those who planned and built the new Poughkeepsie High School and of those who dwell there as students and teachers makes our school one of the finest in the country.
