NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY National Art Honor Society is organized to recognize excellence in art among talented high school students. It is the of the society to pursue activities that will benefit the whole school population. While at the same time meeting the ofthe individual members, a variety of guest speakers, demonstrations, and Held trips will be the focus ofthe years plus a major project of some sort. Debate and Forensics is getting up at 5:00 A.M. on Saturday mornings an stumbling onto a bus or van in the dark. It's driving in various states of sleep t various schools in various cities land sometimes in various states . . . lt's compet ing up to Hve times a day in the event ofyour choice fwhich you sometimes fee should ha ve been high hurdlesj against up to forty other people . . . all out fo trophies and blood. And MacDonald's for lunch and dinner .. . and waitin nervously for results to come in. Finally, it's going home fonce, again, in th darkj, with or without that trophy, wondering how you ever got into this busines in the Hrst place. Garfield would certainly ha ve known better! You know, though, that you'd never give it up . , . you're hooked. The conlidenc you feel growing within yourself the energy and pride of THE TEAM, th excitement of meeting students from so many other schools . . . and occasionall the incomparable high of WINNING make those morning van rides more tha worth it.
