He likes to hunt, fish, and raise Gladiolusfflowersj. He has a wife, Barbara, and three daughters, Coleen, Shawna, and Kelly, all PHS graduates. He also was a proud grandfather this year! Mr. Shader thinks very highly of Poudre when he says, Oh 'Lord it's hard to be humble when were perfect in so many ways. and It is becoming increasingly more difticult to contin- ue to be number 1, but Poudre seems to always ha ve that little extra available in reserve! Don Shoemaker has been teaching Psychology and U.S. history at Poudre since 1969. Glenn Shull leads the band and is the Instrumental Music Resource teacher at Poudre. He has been teaching here since 1964 and he leads the Pep band. His hobbies are to restore cars and he like to travel. He has Barbara as his wife and Todd and Terry as his sons, Mr. Shull said that he is one of the original furnishings of the fPHSj building. Bill Summey is the Assistant Principal at Poudre and has been here since 1970. He enjoys hunting and lishing. Mr. Summey has a wife Libby and a son Bill. Kathy Tolos is a Home Economics teacher at PHS. Kathy Toplyn taught Family Living classes for the Hrst semester while Karen Bianco was gone. George Van Arsdale is the head of Annual Staff, Student Council, and the Activities director at Poudre. He has been with Poudre since 1964. He enjoys bowling, backpacking, woodworking, and watching sports. His wife, Marge, works at CSU and they have three children and three grandchildren. Mr. Van Arsdale's comments toward Poudre are, As my 33 years of teaching in Ft. Collins draw to a close, l thank all the students and staff both present and for- mer for their contributions that ha ve made my teach- ing experience most memorable and enjoyable. May PHS continue in building a proud heritage and mak- ing those changes and adjustments that make Poudres student body and staff truly super! Randy Yaussi is the marketing and D.E. teacher at PHS. He has been teaching here since 1973 and is the track and x-country coach and also supports DECA. He enjoys running and hunting. Mr, Yaussi has a wife, Carol, and a daughter, Tiffany. Linda Naylor teaches Algebra II, Computer Pro- gramming I, II, III, Homemakers Math, and Career Math. She is the Sophomore Class sponsor and she has been with PHS since 1970. Her hobbies are read- ing, sewing, macrame, hiking, Hshing, hunting, and camping. Mrs. Naylor has a husband, Dennis, and a son, Toby, who is in the third grade. jan Phipps has taught at Poudre since 1965. She teaches Economics, Russian History, and World His- tory. Mrs. Phipps is also the Social Studies Chairper- son at PHS. .l Reid Pope has been Principal at Poudre since it opened its doors in 1964. His extra duties at Poudre ,ax are everything. When he is not working, he likes to hunt, Hsh, and hike. Mr. Pope has three sons, Randy, Greg, and Russ, who are all PHS graduates. DeLoris Price is the head of the Foreign Language Dept. and teaches German I, II, III, IV and World Humanities. She has taught here since 1964. Her hob- bies are reading, crossword puzzles, and playing the piano. She has two sons and a daughter. Mrs. Price said, The cooperation among staff, administration, and students has made Poudre a tremendous place to work. Gary Roberson teaches Business Law among other Business Classes at Poudre. 172 Walla Ruff is an English Teacher at Poudre. She has been here since 1972. She is a sponsor of both junior Class and National Honor Society. In her spare time, Mrs. Ruff says that she likes to tra vel, read, and go to curriculum meetings. e Grace Zach is the English Dept. Chairperson and teaches Senior Humanities at Poudre since 1965. She is on the Parent Advisory Board and in her extra time she likes to work with soapstone jewelry and go to the mountains. Mrs. Zack's family consists of Bob, her husband, and children, Randy and Diane. SE IOR ACTIVITIES PHILLIP ACOT1? Football 10,11,125 Basketball 105 Baseball 105 track 115 wres- tling 11,12. He wants to remember school by keep all his friends. In 5 years, Phillip says he will be getting rich. Her favorite classes are Sr. Humanities, Chemistry, and Botany. School will be remem- bered by 'just being involved and making friends. in 5 years, Susan would like to be graduating from college and in 1 0 years she would like to be married and have a career. 5- LEONA APODACA: Choir 10, Concert Chorale 10,11,125 HERO 11,12. Her favorite classes are English 3A and 4A and U.S. Survey. Her most memorable experience is when she lettered in choir. In 5 years, Leona would like to be working and in 10 years she wants to open her own business. MATTHIAS ARIOLI 's favorite classes are Elementary functions, French 4, and Psychology. In 5 years, he will be going to college and traveling as much as possible. TINA BAILEY? Humanities. and family Living. I would like to be traveling around the world in my Magic bus 5 years from now. In 10 years, Tina will be living on a houseboat in California. HENRY BASHA's favorite classes were Physics, US. Survey, and Sr. Humanities. In 5 years, he will be in the Navy or going to college, and in 10 years he will be working at NASA. NORMA BEEBE: Impala choir 105 Poudre Playhouse 105 Drama club 115 Concert Chorale 11,125 Thespian 125 Silver Quill 125 Reader's Theater 12, Pantomime 12. Her favorite classes were Russian history, Drama 1 and Stagecrah. She will remember Poudre by watching its football team going undefeated. In 5 years Norma will be an actress or a police ofHcer. KATHY BENDER: basketball 105 Cross Country 105 Track 11. Her favorite classes were Art, PE and Independent Living. She would like to be living by herself in 5 years and be married and successful in 10 years. LESLIE BIGGS: Pep club 10,11,125 Student Council 11,125 Activities Committee 11,125jr. Class Council 115 NAHS 11,125 Track 11, Cross Country 12. Her favorite classes were Pottery, Student Council, and Painting. Her most memorable exper- iences was the Student Council retreat and Cross Country. In 5 years, Leslie would like to be getting her masters degree in architectural engineering and a mother in I0 ears. CAjfT BLANTON: Orchestra 10,115 Symphonic band 10,115 Marching band 105 Wrestling Cheerleader 115 Pep club 1 15 Poudre Playhouse Orchestra. Her favorite classes were Sr. Humanities, U.S. Survey, and Cell biology. She is going to be very rich in 5 years and the Hrst female president of the U.S. in 10 years. TOM BRAUCH: Golf 10,11,125 band 10,11,125 Stage band 11,125 Orchestra 115 Poudre Playhouse 11,125 Sr. Class Council Pres. 12. His favorite classes were Chemistry, Algebra II, and drahing. He will remember Poudre by having Mr. Goff as a teacher. In 5 years he will be finishing up Med. school or engineering school and in 10 years he will be an engineer or doctor. CONNIE BREWSTER: Marching band 10,11,125 Concert band 10, Symphonic band 11,125 NHS 115 Pep Band 125 Drama Club 125 Her favorite classes were English 4A, English 3A and Cell Biology. She will remember Poudre by winning the 1981 CSU Band Day Parade. 5 Years from now, Connie will be finishing college and in 10 years she will be writing for a science journal. KARRIE BRICKHAM: Pep club 10,125 Key club 10,125 Soph. Class Council 10. Math, Science, and English are her favorite classes. In 5 years, Karrie will be graduating from CSU and being a doctor in 10 years. SANDE BROOKS: likes Bookkeeping and Family Living. Her most memorable experience is her first day when she didn 't know anyone. Sande wouldlike to ha ve a good steady job in 5 years and ha ve enough money to tra vel to some exotic place with her husband in 10 years. ANITA BUENO: Pep club 105 Marching band 10,11,125 Concert band 105 Track 10,11,125 Pep band 115 Symphonic band 11,125 Anita 's favorite classes were Chemistry and English 4A. Her most memorable experience is when she lettered in track. Anita will be going to college in 5 years and will have a P.I-LD. in 10years. Her speech meets are the most memorable part of high school. In 5 years, Renae will be teaching either Drama or Art. In 10 years, she will be teaching and possibly have a family. Lyndy wants to be li a big ranch in Wyoming in 5 years, and to be married with two kids in 1 Lyndy remembers Poudre by Mr. Roberson's birthday her-Ir. year. KELLY CALDWELL: Cheerleading 10,115 Class council 10,115 Pep club 10 Quill Staff 11,125 Student Council 115 Debate 8: Forensics 11. Sr. Humanit Political Science were her favorite subjects. She best remembers the 1981 coming bed race. In 5 years, Kelly would like to be living and working in city carrying a briefcase. In 10 years, she would like to be very happy. CRISTIN CAPRON: Volleyball 10,11,125 Basketball 105 Tennis 10,11,125 band 10, Marching band 10,115 Orchestra 11,12, Symphonic band 11,1 remembers high school by her senior year Volleyball playing. She would have her masters degree in 5 years and be wealthy, living with her husban mountains in 10 years. DENISE CARTER: FBLA 105 HERO 11,12. RICHARD CARK Cross Country 10,11,125 Track 11,12. He likes Biolog logy, and Distributive Education. In 5 years, he would like to be workin Biological Science Company and in 10 years., Richard would like to organisms from outerspace.
