L A BU DAHN Supermtendent Another year has sped away but rn xts trall lt leaves us many memorles of Mr Bu Dahn s welcome companlonshlp humor and deep understanding Well always carry wlth us the many fine thoughts that were so kmdly glven to us when he spoke to us ln our assemblles Hrs words were those whxch were taken to heart and gnven a great deal of thought Hns fine humor was another outstandmg example of a pleasmg personallty Mr Bu Dahn came to our school ln 1930 He was born nn Theresa Wlsconsln where hrs father operated a department store a Creamery and a farm lmplement busmess Even 1n boy hood he gamed much experlence ln work by helpmg around hrs father s busmess He attended many fine lnstltutlons of learning galnlng hls elementary educatxon xn Theresa and h1s hlgh school educatlon ln Harlcon Wnsconsxn Hrs formal educatlon dld not stop here but he con tmued ln Mllwaukee where he graduated from Normal School the Spenserxan Busmess Col lege and the Unxverslty of WISCOHSIH Later he took up work at the Unlverslty of Chxcago and Teachers College Columbna Umversxty Hrs teachlng career began IH a rural school and from that time on he contmued to advance flrst becommg a hlgh school prmcnpal and then supermtendent of schools xn varnous c1t1es In 1925 he was appointed Professor of Psychology IH State College, Kent Ohno and m 1930 he came to Pottsvllle to take over the superlntendency of our schools SCIHIQDQD
