Spring is here and oh, the hills are green and fresh and the red hud out so lair. lint now let us turn our minds from this pleasant scene and go hack to the early history ot' l'ortsmouth, watching as we go the wonderful development as the years roll along. lluring the time of pioneers, l'ortsmouth was half forest and half swamp, with no roads. or lmridges, no stores or taverns, and no physicians, it was just an unin- halmited place. ln tXpril NOS, llenrv Klassie liled the plat of the town ol l'ortsmouth. which was destined to lmecome the principal city of Scioto County.
