Board of Education A capable, public-spirited group of people comprise the Portland- Wayne Township Board of Education. We are honored to have our local President, Mrs. Ronald, elected as President of the Indiana School Board's Association. She attended the held at Atlantic firm of McGuire of Indianapolis, was em- help study the building problems of Portland, determine what the next unit shall be, and de- sign it. Mr. Theurer was recently re-ap- pointed for a four year term. Although faced with the problem of teacher shortage, the board was fortunate to secure capable teachers for all city schools. New high school faculty members this year were Miss Barbara Byfield, Mr. R. Dale Harrod, Mr. Conrad Mullins, Mrs. Mary .lo Poindexter, and Mrs. Marguerite Van Dyke, who taught half-time at the Junior High. fi:
