However, we come into closer Contact with him, for we constitute the most of his troubles! Math students say he,s a line teacher, and We all think he's a good principal. ulaerinllerwfenf Mr. D. S. Weller, Superintendent of the Portland-Wayne Township Schools, is a man with many duties and responsibilities. We See him threading his Way among us in the halls, and Wish that he had more time to know us personally, and We him. We're grateful to him for our modern and efficient school system. The biggest administrative event in our schools during the last year was the combining of Port- land and Wayne Township into a metropolitan school district. The school board fshown abovej is now corn- posed of five members, three of whom are ap- pointed by the city council and one by the town- ship advisory boardg the filth is the township trustee, who is elected by the people. First on the agenda of the new board was the construction of a new Judge Haynes School, a big step toward relieving the overcrowded condi- tions in our schools. Other progressive projects are in the ofiing. Office Secretaries At the left are thc two office sec-retarics, Mrs. Harvey bmith and Mrs. Robert Miller. Cheerful and efficient, they keep the iecoids straight for all of us.
