The biggest administrative event in our schools during the last year was the combining of Port- land and Wayne Township into a metropolitan school district. The school board fshown abovej is now corn- posed of five members, three of whom are ap- pointed by the city council and one by the town- ship advisory boardg the filth is the township trustee, who is elected by the people. First on the agenda of the new board was the construction of a new Judge Haynes School, a big step toward relieving the overcrowded condi- tions in our schools. Other progressive projects are in the ofiing. Office Secretaries At the left are thc two office sec-retarics, Mrs. Harvey bmith and Mrs. Robert Miller. Cheerful and efficient, they keep the iecoids straight for all of us.
