Marian Osenga Janice Peacock Pearl Theola Max Richow Tim Roberts Dora Rogers Carol Sawyer Ronald Schramm Jack Sines Marica Smith Keith Stephenson Dale Swiler G Joanne Tietjens James Todd Marilyn VanDeVenne Ann Vogt Burch Walkington Loren Walkington David Walsh Raymond Wilkinson The class of 1955 entered Portland High School in September, 1951, 64 eager and aspiring scholars, future farmers, laborers, lawyers, doctors, and presidents. Early in the fall we had a hay-ride, where all the freshmen had an opportunity to get acquainted with each other. ''We chose Betty Moyer as our candidate for Home- coming queen, and she was a part of the queen's court at the Homecoming game and dance. One of our more constructive activities was the ; writing of a class constitution, which will govern Sitting: Mr. Monroe, T. Roberts, Vice Pres., B. Kirschenman, Pres.; Mr. Wood. Standing: B. Moyer, Treas.; G. Moyer, Sec. our meetings and activities throughout our high school years. Another was our takng responsi- bility for taking care of our flag in front of the school. Other activities included the usual ones of selling refreshments at a football game and a basketball game, holding a bake sale, and spon- soring a dance. We feel that we had a good year, and are look- ing forward to returning to P. H. S. as Sophomores in September 1952.
