Lakin as vice-president, and G. Schrauben as secretary and treasurer. At Christmas time Shirley Burman entertained the class at her home and everyone had a good time exchanging gifts, playing games, and refreshments were served. February 10, the club sponsored a square dance in the local gymnasium. The big event of the year was the Roman banquet served in true Roman style. Guests at the banquet were the faculty members and prospective Latin students.

FIRST ROW: R. Curtis, G. Kelly, B. McDaniel, M. Linebaugh. SECOND ROW: Mrs. Piercefield, R. Merrill, 1. Van Amburg, E. Champlin, M. Sumner. Absen t: G. Hendee. Spanish Club Although our club has decreased to nine, we still had a very successful year. We elected our officers which are: President... ..Margaret Linebaugh Vice President...... Gordon Kelly Secretary and Treasurer Elaine Champlain During the first few weeks of school, one of our classmates, Gayla Hendee, was striken with polio and had to leave us. In keeping with the example set last year by our Club, we again won first prize on our float in the Homecoming parade. This time we depicted a Spanish Market. Shown in this was a senor taking a siesta, many senoritas as the vendedoras, racks of blankets, flowers, pottery and even Spanish music. Some of our social events were, a hayride, a Christmas party and a skating party. Since our treasury was well stocked from last year, we only sold candy bars one day a week. We would like to thank Mrs. Piercefield for helping us during this successful year.
