Intramural — 7 ntramura 8 Physical fitness comes with active exercise. Eighth grade girls take advantage of Portage ' s fine intramural program, spon- sored by Mrs. Lohman. Intramural Gymnastics is a part of the ninth grade intramural program. Interested students develop and practice skills. In addition to the ninth grade intramural program, Mrs. Lohman also spon- sors the girl ' s varstiy basketball and volleyball teams. Intramurals offer a varity of activities for Portage seventh grade girls. Volleyball and basketball are two sports practiced by the girls. Mrs. Lohman encourages students to develop basic skills. Art Clubs Reading Art Club, sponsored by Mrs. Dehaven, gives students an added opportu- nity to pursue their individual interests. Recreational reading is directed by Mr. Pugh in Reading Club.
