CLASS OF 1953 The years you have spent in high school may have seemed to be long and diflicult at the beginning but now that you have arrived at a point where you may look back, it is quite likely that they ap- pear to have been all too short. Many friendships that have grown out of your associations, the multitude of experiences which you have enjoyed, and the countless tasks which your teachers have assigned to you in the various courses you have taken now all blend together into a whole, which is your high school education. This, I'm sure you recognize to be only the beginning, a preparation for that long term education which you will experience throughout life. As you enter upon this further education, may I remind you that you are important people. It is necessary for you to always keep that fact in mind and to never forget that as important people what you think, what you say, and how you act in all of your asso- ciations with individuals and groups is very important not only to you but to society as a whole. As an important person, you are a responsible citizen, one who is ready and willing to use his talents wherever there is a constructive job to be done. We believe you are important and that your actions will justify this trust in you. ' ERVIN R.
