Ambitious Students Honored at Program The Spring Awards Program was held in the cafeteria at 7:30 on May 31, 1973. Members of the 1973-1974 Student Council were introduced as the first part of the program. Scho- larships in athletics and academics were presented to outstanding stu- dents. Awards were presented to the senior members of Doll-fins and the cheerleading squad, with the new cheerleaders and mascot for the 1973- 74 school year being introduced. A large section of the student body were recognized at the program this year. A. In his last official act as president, Jeff Wilkins swears in Julie Rollo as next year's Student Council president. B. Vanguard principal Mr. Raymond Taylor gives Alice Sandrock, JoAnn Ambrozy, Mike Hoffman, and Doug Masten their awards for outstanding work in their fields. C. An award is presented to jill Felber by Mr. Bowersox in recognition for her work at the State Science Fair. D. Members of the National Honor Society are honored as Mr. Brownell announces them. E. After receiving an award for outstand- ing student leadership, Earl McDavitt addres- ses the program guests. F. As a member of the Society of Outstand- ing American High School Students, Sharon Felber is congratulated by Mr. Brownell. G. The Port Clinton Artists' Award is pre- sented to a happy Carol Weirich from Mrs. Robert Holman.
