Assernbl Programs Offer a ar1at1on in Talents Starting off this year's assem- bly program was the Ohio Univer- sity Choir. Also here to entertain the students were the well receiv- ed musical members of The Uni- ted States Navy Band. Also mak- ing his annual visit to P.C.l-l.S. was Gerald Kniss, who was here to promote the magazine drive. New this year was the magnificent Omar The Fakir. He had stated that he has been on familiar T.V. programs and had performed sev- eral acts. A. With driving force, Mr. Link shatters a stone slab resting on the chest of Omar The Fakir during the year's most unusual assembly. B. Impressively entertaining the students, the United States Navy Band finishes their musical assembly with the National Anthem. C. Proving that audience participation is important, Mr. Marc MaClain and Ken Dunfee, offer their assistance in the magi- cian's bed-of-nails act. D. A variation of tunes, from folk to rock were performed by the Ohio Univer- sity Choir in the year's first assembly. E. Starting off the musically inclined pro- gram, members of The United States Navy Band perform a rousing number. 21

Couples Enjoy Some Enchanted Evening .Q - Students and faculty alike danced to the music provided by Throph, a local group, at the 1972 Winter Formal. The formal, which was spon- sored by the cheerleaders, had as its theme, Some Enchanted Evening. The cafeteria was transformed for the occasion with scenes from the winter season. The queen and her attendants were chosen by drawing their names from a hat. Thanks to the diligent preparation and hard work of the cheerleaders, the Winter Formal was a memorable experience for all who attended. A. Pausing before entering, Diane Bennice and Chris Below prepare to enjoy themselves. B. Dancing couples enjoy the good music and good humour that was featured at the 1973 Winter Formal. C. Linda Kendall and Marvin Harmon smile as they stroll across the rustic bridge to join the couples on the other side, D. Straining to attach a snowflake to the ceil- ing, Lisa Ciancarelli helps to decorate the cafe- teria for the big event. E, Wrapped in thought, Olga Ybarra and Hen- ry Alvarado take time to enjoy a quiet moment. F. From the look on Mike Moffat's face, it's clear that the evening is a success. C. Seen through the streamers, Marty Ritter and Dick Morgan look on as the queen and her court are announced. 23
