M Andrews B Below H Harrod S Rosidr Treasurer Secretary Vxce Presldent Presldent THE JU tlll Thls annual Just wouldn t be complete wtthout the hlstory of our Iumor class Srnce theres plenty of 1t we had better start at the beqmnrnq We remember well that we were called Greenles Just as many other Freshmen had been called but we resolved to prove our met tle Wrth Burt Below as pres1dent Don Waq qoner as vrce presldent Beverly Easton as treas urer and Sam Rosrar as secretary We made an env1able record Many fellows were act1ve 1n athletrcs and pracucally all the qrrls were rn a treasury box whrch was far from empty as a result of our sponsorrnq concessrons a dance and a paper dnve The summer Just flew by and before we knew rt we heard the fnendly dmq of the school bell We trudqed to our new rooms and classes SQl1Sf16d that we would soon have completed the f1rst half of our hrqh school l1fe For our leaders that year we elected Myron Schafer presrdent Don Eddy vlceepresldent Margaret Papcum secretary and Mary Snyder treas urer We felt we were more IH the swrnq of thtnqs that year Several of us made the Com pass staff our football and basketball fellows no longer warmed the bench and everyone 22 was kept plenty busy Wlth all he school act1v1 tres We were proud that our Sophomore qrrls Won the mtramural basketball champlonshrp of the school and we had a party to celebrate therr V1ClOI'Y All th1s brrnqs us up to the present year We had been forewarned that our Iumor year would be a blq and busy one and as school ended we knew that was true Thls t1me we chose Sam Roslar a vars1ty basketball player as presldent Iumor Harrod an act1ve dance band member as v1ce presrdent Burt Below everybody s pal as secretary Mary lane Andrews a v1qorous capable and pleasant lass as treasurer We bumed a lot of m1dn1qht o1l worlunq on our prom but our efforts were rewarded when we heard people say that ours was one of the very best We d1splayed our dramatlc talent on our class play and our workmq ab1l1ty 1n a suc cessful paper dnve We sponsored dances con cesslons and a maqazme dnve the last of whlch was conducted as a contest Boom 300 won and was qrven a party by Boom 208 Our sponsors were M1ss Kmcade Mr Wrll bond M1ss Barber MISS Mrtchell and Mr Stud ebaker Thelr help has been mvaluable L . , ' . . . , ' - G. Dave Krupp pres Maxine Bnndley vice pres Russell Budd sec treas THE 0PH0lVI0llE Followmg trad1t1on we started our Freshman year looking very green cmd lost However thanks to our swell sponsors Mlss Blausey MISS Sayers Mr Howarth Mr Neel and Mr Easton we soon gathered our wits together and elected Andy Mxgala president Caroline Rof kar v1ce-presrdent Elmore Mlgala secretary ed that our class wouldnt be able to get along very well w1thout money in our treasury There- fore We sponsored a concession stand on Oc tober 19th and later on December Zlst a con CGSSIOH and a dance Being a very br1ll1ant t?l and energetic C?l class we entered many school act1v1t1es the boys golng out for football and basketball and the g1rls for G A A F H A dra matics declamat1on and Las Amigas At last after a fairly successful survival of our Freshman year we opened our Sophomore year feeling much more sure of ourselves After 24 electing Dave Krupp presldent Maxme Br1nd ley v1ce-presldent and Russ Budd secretary and treasurer We Were informed that our treas ury was very low ln order to remedy this situ at1on we sponsored the concession at the Eos toria game on October 4th and also the con cession and dance at the Green Springs game pennants license plates and dog tags Even more of us went lnto school GCl1V1l19S this year than last and made the forty nmers recog n1zed as one of the most active and loyal classes ever to go through this h1gh school Our mam regret IS that time 1S flying so very fast Half of our wonderful high school years IS already past We are now preparing to make even more progress in our lunior and Sen1or years so that We may be a cred1t not only to our class but also to our Alma Mater ' . , , ' ' : . l I I I I - .
