Henry McShan, a new PCHS counselor , and Nancy Hefner co-ordinate their efforts to prepare a schedule designed to give her the best possible scholastic benefits. There is no problem too small to ignore William Gordon Graham Earhart Through a battery of inventories, tests gauged to measure knowledge and personal interests, the counse¬ lor can help the student determine the curriculum most suitable for him. By keeping files containing materials ranging from occupational information to college catalogues, the counseling office provides the student with the oppor¬ tunity to investigate the possibilities of his future. The counselor also helps the student realize his future by informing him of job opportunities. The counselor also has a great deal of work cut out for him in the sphere of discipline. He can be a deter¬ mining factor in the student’s struggle to overcome personal difficulty and physical handicap. Richard Ralph Rotsel Tilwick McShan

She earned the club’s pin and guard award for four semesters of school service. A potent medium of communication is the responsibility of Central’s Audio Visual Club Because of the classroom accent on special¬ ized research, more and more students make increasing use of the library’s educational facilities. This increase in library activity has placed in the librarians’ hands the demanding responsibility of selecting reputable books suited to the various interest levels of the student body. Supplying the classroom with enrichment in the form of recordings, movies and filmstrips, the audio-visual club is also under the general supervision of the library’s secretary, Dorothy Prevette. The club members, who are usually trained in a junior high audio visual program, show approximately two hundred films per semester. In planning future projects, the librarians hope to acquire copying machines, enabling the student to reproduce pictures and refer¬ ence materials that cannot be taken from the library. 13
