Lucille Brown were sadly missed by teachers and students of Pontiac High School. Miss Brown who was born in Clarkston, Mich- igan, September 26, 1891, began teaching school there in 1913. In 1915 she came to Pon- tiac, teaching at Crofoot and then Eastern .lun- ior High. She came to Pontiac High School in 1949 to teach Business English. Through the years many students loved her for her warm personality and friendly charm. After nearly 43 years spent in education, on August 23, 1956, Miss Brown laid aside her text book, and crossed over to the Unseen Shore. DOWN STREAM Weep not for me when I take up my oar And drift downstream to meet the setting sun To me 'twill only mean the day is doneg The kindly current bears me safely on Down Stream You bid me stay - to tarry yet awhile, What matters it, a few days, more or less Of ioy or sorrow, happiness, dispairg Fear not that shadows fall across my path - Love lights the way, and I shall safely float Down Stream It is a peaceful land -Tomorrow's land To which I go, and yet no idleness is there. The lessons here imperfectly we learned, And others yet unguessed, are made plain. And someday I shall call to you And you will hear and answer meg And then - you too will take your oar and drift where I await Down Stream num mu mga semi ubmy Emily C.
