pcC,E M ARXE GR D. A. R. AWARD This award is conferred upon one senior girl each year by the Hester Schuyler Colfax Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. This year, Marie Casella was chosen by the senior class as the girl who best represented the qualities fixed as a basis for the selection-dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism. Marie has had a fine scholastic rec- ord throughout school and has been an active partici- pant in many extracurricular activities. Her originality has been an asset to several organizations, and she has constantly worked l-or the advancement and im- provement of the school. N in PELUNGTO 5 . VME OUTSTANDING BOY Every year the Senior Class of Pompton Lakes High School elects a boy whom they consider the most prominent member of their class. james Pel- lington received the honor this year. Throughout his school years, he has always been recognized as a student of wide interests and high scholastic ability. He has achieved many worth-while honors as a stu- dent, including the American Legion School Award, a representative to Boys' State, and a member of the Honor Society. His extracurricular activities include the Student Council, Senior Class President, Assem- bly Club, Pioneer and extend even to baseball. His all-round personality has made him .1 friend to everyone. Among these are initi- ative, honesty, dependa- bility. sportsmanship. and f above all - leadership. We, the Senior Class ot' 19-49. realized that .lames Pellington possessed these qualities and chose him to guide us through all our endeavors. Vfith ,lim as spokesman, our class start- ed new traditions, intro- duced new ideas. and emerged successfully from business ventures. rugs os As our second in com- mand, Anford was always willing to otliciate when the president was absent, His cooperative spirit and willingness to help went far in making our every protect a success. Al- though Anford was busy with other activities. he always found time to give useful suggestions and original ideas which add- ed to the progress of our LlJ55. Grace is known through- out the school for her ex- cellent typing and short- hand ability. This, plus the fact that she is eth- cient, capable, depend- able. and punctual, made her the ideal choice for Senior Class secretary. Even though Grate was the head twirler for the band. she completed the tasks ot' her otlice as sec- retary on time and with a smile. TREASURER ELEANOR POTASH As our class treasurer, Eleanor had to keep track ot' our tinancial records and handle all our busi- ness transactions. Her abil- ity in hoth mathematics and bookkeeping enabled her to come up with the right answers to balance her hooks, Her honesty, accuracy. cooperation, and friendly tnanner have won the admiration and con- gratulations ot' the entire class.
