The Freshman class staking out their claims begin their four years of working toward their graduatxon day Although we look back seyeral years to the days when we were Freshmen the work was as hard and the trme as long for us They came to Pompton Lakes High School with some treprdation but quickly accustomed themsely es to our routine and broadened their interests to accommodate our many activrtres They became an inte gral part of numerous clubs gmng their time and talents to help things go a littlc smoother While the theme of this hook is Pioneermg there are few things the Freshmen do which can be considered origrnal or radically dxf ferent in our school The Freshmens pioneering is mostly wrthin themselyes They are drscoyerlng many new interests many new subjects and are entering a different social society from that known in grammar school They are becoming more mature in their think mg They are begrnning to recognize their importance as a part of our school life Freshmen are findmg new and formerly unknown difhcultxes to surmount new horizons to realize and fine records in scholarship and attarnment toward which to aspire The measure of their pioneering success 15 their achrevement in the commg four years -if XXX J! fr jrkk X 4 Z' fxxs X!
