The Devils started the season with an upset win over a highly favored Cotton. The score, l-0, was largely due to the nearly pertect pitching ol Tom Byrd. in their second game they deieated Riverside 8-4. The third game ot the season hrought an easy victory over Redlands with a score ot 1440 which placed the Devils on top ot the league. in non-league play the Devils have tween very successful. They entered the tinat round ot the consola- tion Hight in the Baseball Tournament held during Easter Vacation. The Devils lost to the Santa Ana Saints. Pomonais prewar C.B.l.. rival. They have tmeaten Bonita. Citrus. and Puente and lost to Chino and Excelsior. Credit tor such a suc- cessful season goes to Coach Stan Acres. The team next year should he as strong. it not stronger than this years. hecause ot the many returning lettermen. The Junior varsity team. which is mainly tor the purpose ot giving experience to luture varsity tboys, is coached hy Joe Bonnet. This team improved trapidlyl and tinally heat Repuhlic.
