When Poly was moved from the Chautaugua Building at 4th and,Pine to 16th and Atlantic, only rabbits were seen on the land. Without a doubt, Long Beach Poly- technic High School's athletes epito- mize the never-say-die spirit of true champions. Always exhibiting a sincere dedication to their school, these skilled competitors possess and demonstrate an inspiring unity of effort that is ardently sought by many, yet seldom achieved. 'The Home of Scholars and Champ- ions team-spirit is to he praised. Hard work, determination and conscientious training are obviously important and contrihutive factors to Poly's continued success. In the heart of every Polyite, found with the memories of ecstasy in triumph and tears in defeat, there is a hallowed place for the defenders of the HGreen and Gold. For our beloved challengers enter each new game with self-respect and honor, always uphold- ing the tradition and outstanding name of their Alma Mater. Our hoys are the champs-Win, lose, or draw.
