f? wiv siefw ww? is-9' gawk, CLASS OFFICERS fbtI yawn, Oh- President Gilbert Davis Vice President Carol Bonham Secretary Romaine Gabriel Treasurer john Yanushka SENIOR CLASS HISTDRY In the fall of 1953 a group of Freshman braves ind squavis started their journey toward graduation. Officers chosen were Gilbert Davis-President Bar- bara Lore-Vice President Carol Kluchinski-Secre tary and ohn Straw-Treasurer. Numerous students took part in the band athletics and dramatics while Romaine Gabriel Barbara Zawatski Barbara Lore and Carol Kluchinski were Chosen as cheerleaders. Likewise, many of the tribe participated in school activities during their Sophomore year. Peggy Dwyer and Dorothy Novak were chosen as majorettes with alternates Louise Craig and Lucille Gardzalla. The class elected john Yanushka, Carol Bonham, Romaine Gabriel and Carl Swinski as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The year ended with an outing at Rocky Glen which was enjoyed by all. Advancing to a higher ground as juniors, the Reservation leaders were: Gilbert Davis, President, Carol Bonham, Vice-President, Romaine Gabriel, 18 Secretary' Malcolm Meyer Treasurer. Many of our young braves participated in the Hi-Y Y-Teens Fire Squad and Library Club. Louise Craig was crowned queen of the Valentine Prom on February 11th. Finally the annual outing at Rocky Glen was once more enjoyed by all. Reservation actiwities reached their heights as a group of experienced and mature warriors began their Senior year. They carefully chose Gilbert Davis, Carol Bonham, Romaine Gabriel, and john Yanushka as President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer respectively. A Turkey Trot was held on Novem- ber 23 with Anne Cebula reigning as queen. Upon graduation the class of '57 left the beloved Shawnee Reservation where they had spent many hours of fun and learning. Their eyes looked to the future where they would try To be, Not to Seem. , a motto which had carried them through four success, ful years.
