In the cooking unit they learned the four food groups, and basic cooking skills. They had two guest meals in which they could invite an adult to eat with them. In sewing they learned the basic sewing skills and were required to make one project, such as an apron, purse, a bicycle bag. The areas that are taught in class are: leather craft, ce- ramics, power energy, manufacturing, graphic arts, and plastics, and architec- trial design. The reason for this is Pleasant Lea Ju- nior High is just one big fam- ily. We can Work with you in groups or all by yourself. We have formed groups in the past for kids whose parents are divorced, experienced a death in the family, or have separated parents. Kids who have been in these groups have worked out a lot of problems and feel a lot bet- ter. We want our students to be happy and stay that way. We have three counselors so you can get in usually when you want to.
