To Our Principal To acknowledge his devotion to Pleasant Lea Jun- ior High School, his enthusiasm for curriculum improve- ments, and his personal concern for each student and teacher, Flashback '72 is dedicated to our principal, Mr. Russell L. Stokes. Mr. Stokes is a graduate of Lafayette High School, St. Joseph, Missouri, St. Joseph Junior Collegeg and The University Of Missouri at Columbia Where he received both the Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees. His military service from 1953 to 1957 was in the United States Navy where he served as a surgical technician. Mr. Stokes, his wife Mary Ann, and his children, Jeff, Greg, John, and Jan, have lived in Lee's Summit since 1962. He first Worked as counselor at the high school and the junior high school. From 1966 until 1971 he was the assistant principal at Lee's Summit Junior High.
