But all of us are proudxof our responsibility to keep P.G . a place that stu- dents will be glad to use many years from now. --I1 '4.1 ii Students at PG have found an exciting place in school activities. The Pep Club, cheerleaders, honor society, student council, athletic teams and the annual staff have spent quite a few hours at laborous but rewarding tasks. Everyone has learned the true value of co-operation. Without teamwork in the classroom, we would never have accomplished as much as we have. Appreciation is due to each teacher and school official for their efforts in making our school year a successful one. 1 M, lk ,-ip 5? , , JZFLJ -, , ., Af, iz., 4, ,,,, , 5. 'XT V. Cheerleaders for the first Pleasant Grove High School football and basketball teams were elected last spring. These girls worked all through the summer learning cheers and stunts. The highlight of the summer was a trip to National Cheerleading Clin- ic at the University of Mis- sissippi. Faculty sponsor for the cheerleaders is Mrs. Jeannie Harwell. The cheerleaders learned many new stunts at cheerleader clinic JR. HIGH CHEERLEADERS The junior high school cheerleaders have worked hard learning many new stunts and cheers. The beginning of school found Student Council members in the halls helping new students find their way to classrooms, and helping returning stu- dents find new classrooms. Last spring the Student Council sponsored the March of Dimes Safari from our school. Our students, along with those from other schools in the area, marched with Pat Sullivan and Johnny Musso to earn money for the March of Dimes. Students enjoyed working on the Christmas float for the Bessemer Christmas Parade. Though hampered by the rain and mud, enthusiasm soared as the first float from Plea- sant Grove High School was built.
