First off is captain Andy Kelley who led the seniors on their treacherous journey through the stars. Next off is Jerald Hawkins, co-pilot and C.B. specialist, followed by Beth Lachniet, his assistant, who assisted in the navi- gation through the dark skies. Various members of the class will provide the entertainment for the week. Debby Davis will ride Rocket, a horoughbred raised and trained by Tori Bevan, in the Galaxy Derby. Competing against her will be Darrell Jarver on his snowmobile, and Phillip McCreanor oh his Honda, on a course built by John Lyons, a track xpert. Materials were supplied by Robin Busio, who delivered them in her new 18-wheeler. The next event will e the Milky Way Stampede in which Roger Webb and Rich Fifield will ride bulls. Linda Jordan will barrel race, ving for her fastest time ever. Following these festivities, a banquet will be held. The dinner will be prepared by Mrs. Schramm and the even-course meal will be served by Mr. Lucas. On exhibition throughout the banquet will be paintings by Mar- ha Spangler. For after dinner entertainment, Colette Fritz will sing “Would You Like To Swing on a Star?’’ accompanied by ebbie Bunguardner on her guitar, music arranged by Susan Phillips. Those unable to attend are Debbie Pfertsh and J.J. Jordan, who will be playing a professional one-on-one asketball championship game. i Carolyn Rich and Roxie Icke will be taking care of all the childern of those attending. They are assisted by nda Hollembeak who is teaching a special typing class to the children and Janet Merwin who is teaching em creative rhymes. ' janice Chapman and John Schafer will be skiing in the Swiss Alps on the ski team. Head Coach Earl Everett John Lyons John, having played football for three years, was voted captain of the team, his senior year. John played offensive tackle, defensive end and linebacker. Assistant Coach Larry Price 59 EtZLOZ Rich Fifield Rich started playing on the Cowboy team his freshman year, received league honors as defensive back. He received the same honors again his sophomore year. His senior year he became all league line backer and was chosen prep all-American hono- ree. Jerald Hawkins Jerald started playing football as a fresh man and participated as offensive guard, defensive tackle and nose guard. Phillip McCreanor Phillip played football as a freshman at a Denver high school. He came to Plateau Valley as a sophomore where he played offensive guard and defen sive nose guard. -Z?£ £T ?2£ 2 Andy, being a beginner in his senior year, did an outstanding job as he started every game as center. He also played the defensive tackle position most of the year. John Schafer John, beginning as a junior, started con- stantly as a tackle. For his senior year he also started as a tackle and a defensive end. Roger Webb Roger started playing football with the Cowboys his junior year after hav ing gained experience as a freshman in Texas. Homecoming festivities began Saturday, September 24, at 10:00 A.M. with a parade. The first place float was designed and built by the freshman class. Second place float was pulled by their proud owners, the seniors. The juniors took third with their tiger cage, and the sopho- more class wound up with fourth. Many elementary stu- dents rode bicycles and others carried signs. Junior high had students in costume participating, also.
