laniat 'PCcUeau Va££ey Sc aai Co-editors: Lois Bailey Ellen Nichols ALAN L. GIFFORD There's a faith that lies in our friendship, A faith that's like a song, That brightens and cheers our pathway. Each day as we journey along. There's a faith that lies in friendship, That makes things seem just right, That brings a quick smile to each new dawn, And peace to each fading night. No day has ever been lonely, When we have said at the end, We've walked this pathway together, Side by side with you as a friend. For his unending efforts, always deepest sincerity, and never failing faith in us, and for all of the time, energy, and devotion he has given to us, we, the senior class of 1970, are proud to dedicate our yearbook to our friend and sponsor, Mr. Gifford. I, Sharon McDonnell, will to the faculty and administration a case of dynamite. Hope you have a blast. Se U vi Looking through the mist into the future ten years from now, we see the 1970 seniors 28 years old and celebrating their class reunion. LOYAL BLAIR is a crooked accountant assistant in the syndicate. DEN- NIS IOHNSON is a test-tube scrubber in 1ANICE CURRIER'S research lab- oratory exploring the population problem. BILL McCALMONT has just won a gold medal for pole vaulting in the 1980 Summer Olympics. CHUCK CHENOWETH has just stumbled onto traces of PVHS after the 1970 graduation party had left very little remaining of the Plateau Valley. SHARON McDONNELL and SUZANNE LYONS have just been awarded the title of Cheerleaders of the Century at Notre Dame Uni- versity. DAVE CRITES, after completing his ten-year muscle course, has been awarded the title of Mr. Universe, 1980. DEBBIE LONG is no longer with us after being swept away by a mild breeze on her way to the market six years ago. KATHY SHIDELER is now manager of the Powderhorn Lodge. Today JOHN WEST has finally gotten his 1958 Chevy pickup going after many years of hard work. JANICE HAWKINS is still on the moon where she decided to stay after being the first woman there. ELLEN NICHOLS is the star of a new program similar to the old Jack LaLane Show. SH1RLENE DILLARD is still puzzled over a joke she heard at school in 1970. JOE McDONNELL is running a five- chair barber shop for cowboys. CANDY TERRELL is head of a chain of motels across the nation. And there is RUTHY BLOSS who has just in- vented a new line of milking machines. BILL BLUE, world-known for his vocal chords, was hired yesterday as head echo at the Grand Canyon. LOIS BAILEY just got married to her secret admirer. DOUG WHIPPLE is running the No-Tell Hotel in Redding, Calif. The seniors, as a whole, after ten years, are doing very well for themselves considering their slow start in Plateau Valley. JUNIORS Doris Charlesworth, Sec. Look at a man, Put him alone. Put him 12,000 miles from home. Drain his heart of all but blood, Make him live in sweat and mud. This is the life I have to live, And why my soul to the devil 1 give. You peace BOYS watch the news from your easy chairs, But you don't know what it's like over here. While you burn your draft cards, Plant your signs in the White House lawn. And march at dawn. Because you say there is no real war in Viet Nam. You use your drugs and have your fun, And then refuse to pack a gun. There is nothing else for us to do, But give our lives to help save you. I'll hate you till the day I die. Because you made me hear my buddy cry. I saw his arm in a bloody shred, 1 heard the Doc say: He's dead. It was a large price he had to pay. Not to live for another day. He bought your life by giving his. But who gives a damn what a marine gives. I am a marine, 1 do believe in love and peace. But I'm willing to fight for what I believe.
