BOYS' BASKl:TBALL TEAMS Basketball un Plaunvuew hugh School On November 25th the furst call for basketball traunung was made As a re sult a large number of boys and gurls responded But thus cannot be attrubuted to the unterest un basketball alone The traunung precedung the basketball season wull account for a greater part of the mterest As a preparatuon for basketball the gurls were guven dauly exercuse under the name of physical education The traunung offered un this put the gurls un the best of condutuon and caused a greater number to be unterested un athletucs In Muss Albrught the gurls had a most effucuent unstructor and coach of whom the gurls were all proud As a result of her work and the wulltngness of the gurls one of the best teams of the county was developed After beung defeated un theur furst game by an adjounung county team they fought much harder and un the follow ung games carrued the name of Plaunvuew Hugh to many vuctorues In the county furst place they receuved a very credutable place among the teams and succeeded un placung Muss Earlune Fox on the all county mythucal sux as sude center For the boys they were sorry that the football season was over but they found reluef un the workouts receuved under the careful coaching of our fauthful coach oe Bennett The senuor Pune Knots met wuth several defeats durung the furst half of the season but thus was more than balanced by the vuctorues of the last half Ar the tournament they made a very credutable shouung Of the Junuor Pune Knots too much cannot be saud A better teaun has never been known to Yell county Throughout the year the luttle Pune Knots met few clefmts and carrued the name of Plaunvtew over the top many tumes 'lhen came the day of the tournament when they met the strongest of teams Each and every way they battled theur way to the front unttl un the end they had the pleasure which no other quuntet of the county could enjoy returnung home wuth the lovung cup But after all the greater part of our glory comes from the fact that P H S always played a clean game L G fZ6 u z l Y ' ' , . . , .
