Anud red and whlte streamers and a huge football on the stage Lyle Ashburn and Barbara Thleman were crowned K1ng and Queen at the opentng of the homecomlng ceremon1es F rtday afternoon October 8 tn the School Aud1tor1um by last year s lung and queen J1m Bossard and Martlyn Hanefeldt Attendants to the queen were Judy Brunke freshman Alyce Schultze sophomore Joyce Hoffman Jtuuor and Jolene Epke semor The gxrls were escorted by four senlor boys Dwa1n Kteckhafer Elmer Fr1edr1ch Lyle Mulhns and Jack Bomar respecttvely who were attendants to the k1ng Jean and Joan Couchman tw1n daughters ofMr and Mrs Don Couchman were crown bearers Hu1gens were tra1n bearers The queen rece1ved a grft from the P club and the kmg from the Pep club Nancy Houston presldent of the Pep Club welcomed the Alumm and was nustress of cere rnorues for the program The response grven by Loretta Bucholz was followed by two numbers by the boys octette Followmg a presentauon of yells led by the cheerleaders Coach Hanson gave a short talk tn whlch he lntroduced tle co captams Gary Ltngenfelter and Gary We1nr1ch The latter gave a short pep talk The program closed w1th the P1a1nv1ew Hrgh School Band playmg the recess1onal At the Homecomrng football game played wxth Cre1ghton tn the everung there were an esumated 1200 people tn attendance The btgday was brought to a close by a vrctory over Crergh ton Bulldogs and Robert Kopp, son of Dr. and Mrs. R. E. Kopp, and Ned Huigens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul
