if The Freshmen came aboard the ship P, H. S. on August 30, 1954. They started the year with sixty-one mates, but lost one, Werner Stolp. The first member to walk the plank was Judy Brunke when she was elected to serve on the Student Council, and was chosen to represent theFreshman Class in the Homecoming ceremonies. David Holmes was also elected as a representative to the Student Council. Francie Twiss, Nyla Epke, Caryl Craven, and Mavis Carstens were chosen as cheerleaders to yell for the Pirate Freshies during the basketball season. We held a Christmas party on December 23 with an exchange of gifts and refreshments.
