' A Way back on August 30 1954 the Juniors again trotted up the steps of old P H. S. to begin the new year At our first class meeting we elected Ed Prange as President, Gary Lingenfelter as Vice-President Sherlene Reikofski as Secretary-Treasurer and Marcus Johnson as News Reporter. Janice Schmitt and Jerry Peterson were chosen for Student Council Our class sponsors were George Schell Priscilla Tellman Lois Crain and Bob Hansen. The class chose Joyce Hoffman as attendant to the queen at Homecoming Our three big events of this year were the Junior Class Play County Government Day and Junior Semor Banquet For our class play we chose a comedy Stage Struck under the direction of Mr George Schell It was about aJun1or Class getting ready to put on a class play The play was given on November 19 It was a great success At this time the J umors began making campaign speeches for County Government Day The school chose 14 students to represent Plainview We went to the County Courthouse at Pteroe on Tuesday November 23 In April we began making plans for the Junior Senior Banquet We chose Fairy land for our theme The auditorium was decorated to look like a scene in the middle of the forrest The banquet was given on May 3 1955 The American Legion chose Mary Houston to represent Plainview at Girls State and Marie Callow was chosen as alternate Ed Prange was chosen for Boys' State Marilyn J ohnson and Jerry Peterson were elected by the class to lead the Seniors at graduation ceremonies May 18 wound up the activities of the Junior Class for the 1954 55 year C0561 7 Ed Prange President Gary Lingenfelter Vice President Sherlene Reikofski Secretary Treasurer Marcus Johnson News Reporter
