The freshman class walked up the steps of P.H.S, on August 31, 1953, They started with 66 members but lost one, Myrna S-chneider. Later in the year they gained one, Richard Byrd. The class took part in many of the school ac- tivities such as FHA, FFA,1 Girls' Glee, Boys' Glee, Band and athletics. The class chose Jackie 'Twiss and Bob Patras as their representatives to the Student Council. The class elected class officers only once this year, 'The officers were as follows: President, Jayne Tepnerg vice-president, Bob Watson: sec- retary, Jackie Twissg treasurer, Barbara Hous- tong news reporter, Ellen Thieman. The class had a Christmas party on Decem- ber 23, 1953, They played games and had a lunch afterwards. Another party, a scavenger hunt, was held March 30, The class chose their freshman team cheer- leaders: 'They were Jayne Tepner, Ellen Thie- man, Jackie Twiss and Alyce Schultze. Sponsors were Miss Tellman and Mr. Goudge.
