DEDICATION On behalf of the entire student bcxly at Pioneer, the Annual Staff would like to dedicate the 1976 TORCH to a man who is highly devoted to his students. A native of Long Beach, aiifomia, he attended Lakewood High School and from there, went on to obtain his B.A. at Cal State Long Beach. His love and concern for teenagers was what made him decide to become a high school teacher. He first came to Pioneer in 1969 where he coached water polo and swim- ming and taught various history classes. For two years he left us for, a posi- tion at La Serna High, but returned once again to his Great kids at Pio- neer. He is now serving as Assistant in Student Activities; supervising many night games and dances, presides over the Senate, and is also a Super history teacher who can acmally make his characters come alive. Whatever spare time he manages to find, he spends it skiing, camping, playing racketball, and being with his wife, Jackie and his little son, John. For many years of deep concern and devotion for his students, the 1976 TORCH is dedicated to our Super Star.
