JP i PP' alll, l -.A Ceolcatlon On behalf of the graduating class of 1973, the yearbook staff wishes to dedicate the 1973 TORCH to a person who has been more than just a teacher. There are some individuals who become not only instructors to us, but co-workers and respected friends. Such qualities are rare, but they are found in a most unique man here at Pioneer. He was born near Cedar Falls,1owa, the oldest of three children. Upon graduation from high school he attended Houghton College in New York, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. He later completed his graduate work at Ball State in Muncie, Indiana. While in the Navy, he met the woman who would later become his wife, joan Dorle. They were married in 1952. He is now the father of four children, three boys and one girl. He came to our school when it first opened. After teaching here for a year, he left to teach college in the East. ln 1965 he returned to California and resumed his position with Pioneer's Science Department. His hobbies include photography, woodworking and bicycle repair. ln the near future he hopes to own and operate a bicycle shop in the Daimond Bar area. We know that he will be successful. Our best wishes are extended to this very devoted and sincere man. We thank him for being our educator and our friend, and hope that this relationship continues far into the future. ln gratitude for all that Mr. B has given to Pioneer, the 1973 TORCH is dedicated, with respect and admiration, to: Donato keith Buoenslek
